Eye shot the sheriff

  These pieces are done by David Moreno, and they are for his own collection. They were hanging at the 13th Istanbul Biennial shown in Antrepo by the title of 'Mom, am I barbarian?'

The biennial in general uses the subject of urban transformation and sends regards to Taksim Gezi Park too. 

But for me, it was nice to see these photos done with ink and a few drawings as well.

Yesilcam Sinemasi

Yesilcam Sinemasi is located in Beyoglu, right next to a rock bar. Its a very small place and has the most amazing selection of films. Its where i saw İmagine & Samsara. 
You get to sit wherever you would like, there isn't anyone to show you where you should be sitting (as its done in almost every cinema in istanbul) 
'Its a free spirited cinema' says Guven Celik. 
The tickets are very cheap, and sometimes he says he takes students for free screenings. Its a lovely space, you should come  and enjoy your ride in the movies.

Samsara

Finally i got to watch Samsara! What an imagery, what a soundtrack! I was watching a documentary loving every second of it. You can find the whole movie in youtube or vimeo.

Istanbul Modern-ing it.

Yesterday, we went to see a performance by Mihran Tomasyan by the name of ' Sen balik degilsin ki'  
after the performance we stayed for the talk.

The performance artist said that when he put a show in batman/Turkey, in the scene where the reporter died a guy also jumped and threw himself on the floor. And when the artist and the guy who threw himself talked the guy said 'I assumed that everyone was going to do the same' i thought that was interesting. And so was the show.

Tomasyan also said 'I think wars should be done with colors.
Lets fight with our thoughts, lets argue over ideas.'

Movie time

Between 19-29 September 2013. Istanbul Modern Museum proudly presents a selection of 11 films. By the title of 'Passion' Movies by Tarkovski, Demirkubuz, Bunuel, Fassbinder.

You should see this solo exhibition 'Twin' by Sarkis at Galeri Mana.

The gallery is opened between Tuesday-Saturday and the times are 11.00-18.00.   

I love sale 4

Over the weekend, i went to an event called 'I love sale 4'

It was happening next to one of my favourite cafe. It was really cheap like a pound for that purple tshirt. There were different stalls each belonged to a blogger selling things that they owned.

I found those glasses that were small for my face but thought they were funny to publish here. And the ones underneath are my favourites from winter time.

Imagine movie trailer 2012

I just watched this film the other day & i have to say its really good. Its a polish made, and has been filmed in lisbon.I have to say I thought it was going to be much more depressive after watching the trailer, but on the contrary it makes you look at life in a different perspective. And i do love the ending..

Guim Tio

A friend of mine suggested i take a look of Guim Tio's work from instagram & from that day on I've been a fan. I like the amount of work he produces which is loads and the understated sense of humour that i see fascinates me. There's a natural mystic blowin' through the air..

Now the smell of that thyme surrounds the whole room when you make that fresh tea. It tastes so good to my delight & is so healthy. It decreases level of stress & makes you feel good and relaxed. & so much more.. it heals from throat ache to cold throat. Yes and i suggest you get the fresh herb instead of those packages that are neatly packed. Cheeeeerrrrrss. 

One way or the highway , )

I wish converse kept their cool. Like back in the golden days & didn't dictate us on which shoes to wear. I used to love converses.. the dirtier the better, the more ripped the better they looked. You remember. Anyways they come across as 'Shoes are boring. Wear sneakers.' & its everywhere in the metros, on the bus ads, the billboards. 
These are the things we see, what about those we don't spot out?

When i got nothing to do, i like to take a walk and discover new places. This time i decided to sit at my old time favourite & reminisce golden days.. to do that i had to have an old time favourite as a drink. Which is a mix of double espresso & baileys. I usually don't take photos of food, drink or thing similar but this time they brought it in a tray, & that was being served in a tiny table outside. 
Normally they had nice tables but the government banned the tables out in taksim. So they started to put out tiny tables for smoking. Anyways i don't smoke no more, but i enjoyed my drink there on that tiny space.
